Omnilux Therapy

Omnilux light therapy is an anti-ageing treatment, an acne treatment, and a treatment that rejuvenates tired skin, which is non-invasive and natural, providing for instant tightening and lifting. The therapy has been clinically proven: it stimulates the production of collagen and it neutralises acne bacteria. It is suitable for every skin colour and skin type. OmniluxT light therapy can be used in conjunction with your other skin regimes/treatments (such as Botox) to enhance and prolong their effectiveness.

Your IPSA skin clinic Omnilux light-therapy consultation

At your IPSA skin clinic, your IPSA specialist will work with you to determine the best possible procedures to achieve the results you are after. As Omnilux can be used alongside other treatment regimes, your skilled IPSA physician will review your current skin regime and treatment history prior to undertaking Omnilux light therapy.

What is Omnilux light therapy?

Omnilux light therapy is a non-invasive way of tightening, lifting and firming sagging skin and can be used to clear acne. It is safe and effective. It is suitable for every colour of skin and every skin type and has been clinically proven to promote healthier skin and counteract ageing effects by stimulating the body’s own natural processes. The treatment is fast, simple, with no pain or side effects. There is no redness or itching following the procedure and so there is no recovery time required. Omnilux uses a combination of pure, visible red and infra-red light. This light stimulates the deeper skin tissue, softening your fine lines and improving your skin tone, resulting in super-smooth skin.

Omnilux light therapy for anti-ageing: The science of light

As we age, cells manufacturing the skin’s supportive structure start to slow down. Environmental damage (such as from the sun’s rays) speeds up the ageing process, producing free radicals which damage your skin and also damage the cells that produce elastin and collagen. Unlike the anti-ageing procedures that work due to your body’s response to damage, Omnilux stimulates your body’s own natural processes, thus rejuvenating your skin.

Certain combinations of wavelengths of light that are delivered at different times work by stimulating the specific cells that are responsible for correcting the signs of ageing and Omnilux light therapy was developed based on such a scientifically proven understanding. When the skin is exposed to Omnilux light therapy, several cellular mechanisms are activated:

  • The light stimulates the cells that are responsible for tissue repair.
  • The light stimulates the collagen- and elastin-producing cells for long-term results.
  • The mitochondria in the cells absorb the light, thus increasing the permeability and vitality of the skin cells. This means that the active ingredients can quickly activate and penetrate deeply into the skin.

Omnilux light therapy makes use of two different light sources: Omnilux plus and Omnilux revive. The two different light sources can be used separately or they can be combined (when they work together synergistically). Your IPSA skin specialist will explain this to you during your Omnilux consultation.

How does Omnilux work?

Omnilux light therapy works alongside your body’s natural processes, counteracting the effects of ageing. The different wavelengths of light target the different, specific cells that are responsible for both synthesising and repairing your skin’s supportive structure.

What results will I see from my Omnilux light therapy?

In independent studies on Omnilux light therapy, eight out of ten test subjects reported that their fine lines had been softened following treatment and three quarters reported an improvement in both their skin softness and smoothness.

Can I have Omnilux light therapy alongside my other skin treatments?

Omnilu light therapy, in combination with other treatments (for example, fillers, facial peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatment and IPL), can be used to enhance the treatment results for skin peels, laser skin rejuvenation, rosacea and the redness associated with the condition and microdermabrasion. Your IPSA skin specialist will discuss this with you during your consultation.

Is Omnilux safe?

The scientifically tested and designed light used in the Omnilux therapy does not have the harmful UVA or UVB rays. The experience is relaxing and you will have a sense of well-being both during and after your Omnilux treatment. The Omnilux treatment is not in any way painful and there are no injections and no downtime.

How long is the recovery period?

No recovery time is required. Your makeup can be re-applied as soon as you have finished your treatment.

Will I see the results straight away?

This depends on your specific treatment options. The initial effects are a brighter, clearer and smoother complexion. After you finish a course of treatments, you will see an improvement in clarity, tone and skin smoothness. Your wrinkles and fine lines will be softened.

How long will the results last?

This varies according to both your skin type, lifestyle, and whether you have combined Omnilux with any other skin treatments. However, once your course is complete, a maintenance treatment every four to six weeks is recommended to prolong the results.

Who is Omnilux light therapy suitable for?

Omnilux is a very effective skin treatment for men and for women of any age. It is a non-invasive treatment that is easy to perform.

The benefits of Omnilux light therapy

  • As it is not a laser therapy or an IPL, there is no heat involved, no downtime and no side effects
  • It is a safe therapy that is non-invasive and non-ablative
  • The sub-dermal tissues are not damaged
  • The Omnilux light-therapy experience is calming/relaxing
  • Large areas can easily be treated (such as the chest and face)
