Travel Vaccinations & Certificate of Completion

If you intend to travel outside of the UK, you might require vaccinations to protect you against some of the more serious types of disease that are present in other regions of the world.

At your IPSA clinic, vaccinations are available that will protect you against many of the travel-related infections, such as typhoid, rabies and hepatitis A.

If you grew up in the UK, then your childhood vaccination programme will protect you against some diseases (such as tetanus), but you will not be protected against most of the infectious diseases found abroad.

Why do I need to have travel vaccinations?
For some countries overseas, you will need to have an ICVP (International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis) before you can enter. Saudi Arabia, for example, requires that you have proof of vaccination against some forms of meningitis if your intention is to undertake the Umrah and Hajj pilgrimages.

Many of the tropical countries (such as those in South America and Africa) will not allow travellers in from yellow fever areas unless they can provide evidence of having had their yellow fever vaccination.

Getting vaccinated at your IPSA vaccination clinic
The travel jabs that you will need vary depending on the country you intend to visit and also on what you will be doing during your overseas visit.

Your IPSA vaccination specialist will also give you some general advice regarding travel health (for example, how to protect yourself from malaria) and travel vaccinations.

If you require a booster for any UK vaccinations, then these can be provided at your IPSA vaccination clinic, alongside any of the relevant travel jabs that you will need, such as:

• Diphtheria, polio and tetanus (a combined booster)
• Hepatitis A (this can be combined with hepatitis B or typhoid)
• Hepatitis B (when it is not combined with hepatitis A)
• Typhoid
• Cholera
• Rabies
• Tuberculosis (TB)
• Meningococcal meningitis
• Tick-borne encephalitis and Japanese encephalitis

At your IPSA vaccination clinic, we can provide you with a full certificate of completion. This record of your vaccination from your IPSA vaccination clinic may be requested at places of employment or during travel at airports.

To book your same-day appointment for travel vaccinations, simply call your IPSA vaccination clinic or make your booking online.
